Seeker

We wear our sorrow as fatigue;
Afraid to show the distress that
We perceive our failing, regret
To find ourselves hollow.

Reprieve may be found in the lies
Aplenty; delusions made from
Dashed dreams that drum
Yet in our forgotten hearts, bound -

Only the child sees the hope
We must pretend we lost.
Do they witness the cost
Of what we bought to be mild?

Perverse, yes, but impossible to reverse?
There are buyers, thusly we pride liars
Who claim the damage is done
And we must forever run
From the child who might
Have once brought us to the light.

Distress, is indeed what we reap for such misdeed.
And we say it is deserved, so we reserve
Our judgement for the child
Whom we say is wild:
He must learn to make
The mistakes in our wake.

Is it fair to swallow that nothing is?
Truth bears no price; would not be vice
When we bear no longer such borrowed weight.
The child does not wait, for tomorrow's late,
And forgiven lies liberate forgiven fools.

Never again captive,
The worthiest dream of all.

Golden Sheen Obsidian locket. My new favourite obsidian species! Sits on a 30" gold plate cage-style chain.

In any case, obsidian's strongest property is to "cut straight to the truth of the matter", hence the poem and title.

A fair few inquiries regarding whether I sell these lockets of mine. The answer is Yes - but I haven't put them on my etsy store for a few reasons, prime among them the fact that I'd like to give my dA followers first dibs if they wish. Secondary reasons include my being lazy to list them right now; store admin is a drag. I'd rather spend my time finishing all my various projects... or at least progressing in them. XD

So anyway, if anyone wants to get any of my lockets, just note me.
